The Indonesian Ambassador accompanied the Deputy Chair of the DPD RI, Dr. Mahyudin and 13 members of the DPD RI in a meeting with the Chairman of the Majlis A’Shura of the Sultanate of Oman, HE Khalid Hilal Nasser Al Maawali, in Muscat. The meeting was used to introduce DPD RI to Majlis A’Shura and exchange views on the parliamentary system and legislation of the two countries. The two institutions have something in common, namely where their members are representatives of the population of an area.
To the Chairman and deputy senators of Majlis A’Shura, the Deputy Head of the DPD RI explained the Indonesian parliamentary system as well as exchanged views on the similarities between the two institutions as representatives of each region.
Chairman and deputy senator Majlis A’Shura was amazed by the Indonesian parliament which represents such a large number of Indonesian people.
Majlis A’Shura expressed his readiness for parliamentary cooperation with DPD RI in the future.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Chief of the DPD, the Indonesian Ambassador and all the delegates were invited to visit the Majlis A’Shura courtrooms which were so magnificent and impressive. Majlis A’Shura also invited the Indonesian Ambassador to witness the open meetings of Majlis A’Shura in the future.
This visit and meeting with Majlis A’Shura Oman was the first time. During the meeting, the Indonesian Ambassador was accompanied by PF Politics I, Pilar Ayu Paradewi, and PF Politics II, Alwin Abdullah.
