Medco Founder John Sadrak Karamoy Dies

Jakarta, indonesiacenter-oman — Sad news comes from the world of oil and gas (oil and gas) Indonesia. One of Indonesia’s oil and gas figures, John Sadrak Karamoy, died today, Wednesday (28/7), at 00.24 WIB.
This information was confirmed by the Secretary General (Secretary General) of the National Oil and Gas Company Association (Aspermigas) Moshe Rizal.

Based on information from the family received by Moshe, John died at the age of 84 because of a non-covid-19 illness at Siloam Hospital, Tb. Simatupang, South Jakarta. Furthermore, the body will be buried in San Diego Hills, Cikarang.

During his lifetime, the deceased was nicknamed the Oil Man of Indonesia because of his work in the oil and gas world.

In addition, the ITB Chemical Engineering graduate also served as Corporate Vice President at Stanvac Indonesia, now known as ExxonMobil. Prior to his death, he still served as Chairman of Aspermigas.

Moshe remembers the figure of John as an important figure in the history of oil and gas RI. He admitted that the Indonesian oil and gas industry and Aspermigas lost the deceased very much.

“Mr. John S. Karamoy is one of the most important figures in Indonesia’s oil and gas history, his services and role in developing Indonesia’s oil and gas industry are countless, he is a firm figure, but good to anyone, close to the top and bottom,” he said.
